Proportion portion, what's your portion?

Hey guys! Today we took notes on Proportions (two equal ratios). We used the property of cross products to find out if two ratios were equal. In addition, we used it to find the missing number. We used the butterfly of cross multplication to help remember what to do. It was a quick and easy lesson! Cross multiply, and then divide by the coefficient to find the answer.

Homework varies by class:
Period 1 does Wksht5-3 Practice (1-12) and 5-3 Puzzles (on the back)
Periods 2,3, and 6 do Wksht 5-3 (1-16 even) and 5-3 Puzzles (all for extra credit)
Period 5 Wksht 5-3 Practice (1-12) and 5-3 Puzzles for extra credit.

Have a beautiful weekend. Gung Hay Fat Choi! (and Chuc Mung Nam Moi- but I know it needs accents)

Well Carrie! OH YES! Hi Ms. Vickery! (Can I call you Ms. Flickery? Because you flick the math stuff into our brains with a click? and make it easier for us?)

The butterfly wasn't hard in class, but the homework sort of confused me, mom helped, but I was on my own for a couple..and miss two questions! Well, one was SUPPOSED to be in FEET (I, shamefully, had INCHES..) and the other one, I understand now! :D!

In my ART BOOK:

OX: Because the strong Ox was also simple and trusting, it fell for the RAt's trick. By offering the Rat a ride, the Ox lost first place in the 12-year calendar cycle. Instead, the Ox came in second. People born in the year of the Ox are strong, patient, and thoughtful. The Ox's motto is "I carry on."

So yes Carrie..the smart ox!

BUT I AM A RAT! A sneaky Rat! Not really, but here's the rat's thing.

Rat: A long time ago, Buddha held a contest to decide the names of the CHinese calendar years. All the animals were invited to join the river race. Rat rode across the river on the Ox's back, then in jumped to shore first! People born in the year of the Rat are said to share its characteristics: They are charming, talkative, and talented. The Rat's motto is "I lead."

So, YAY! I'm a RAT! :D

What are you Ms. V?

Ok then!

Have a nice day!

FLORIE! *^^*
